How NOT to Expose Your Body Issues On a Date

Screen Shot 2013-10-07 at 5.09.00 PM

Body issues–everyone’s got em.’ But how do they affect your dating life?

That’s what I was talking about over lunch a couple days ago, with my matchmaker friend. She was telling me all about her “problem client” who seems to have it all–beauty, intelligence, success, and even an athletic lifestyle.

So what’s the problem? She’s 25lbs. overweight, and very self-conscous about her body. (To be clear–her negative opinion of her body is the problem here, NOT the extra weight.)

So how did her body issues affect her dates?

Watch it here and find out:

I’m asking you–Have you ever been like this “problem client?” What would you tell her if she were your client?

Let me know in the comments section–I can’t wait to hear your advice!

What’s Self-Love got to do with Dating?

Screen Shot video 3

If you know me at all, you know I really want you to feel good.

I want you to feel good about yourself, your body, and the path you’re on. Specifically, I want you to feel good right now, exactly as you are. Why do I want this so badly? Because I know it’s possible. I know you can find some part of yourself to be proud of, confident about, and even love.

That’s what this week’s episode is about: The stuff you love about yourself. Maybe it’s your work ethic, or your brilliant ability to choose the perfect outfit for any occasion, your good instincts with money, or your impeccable gift-giving skills.

These are all examples of self-love!

But what does self-love have to do with dating? Well, imagine the guy you’re dating doesn’t love the things you love about yourself. What does it mean if he’s just sort of meh about your passion for yoga, or tennis, or anthropology?

Well, it means he’s just not your Right Guy. And we’re here to help you find your Right Guy. So, Buh-Bye!

P.S.: Toward the end of the video I share a fast and easy technique to generate MORE self-love, so you can attract the kind of men who love the stuff you love about yourself.

P.P.S.: Post a comment–Did it work? How did you feel? And, puh-leeze, if you have your own personal way to feel more loving toward yourself, let us know. Remember, your regular routine can be another’s woman’s AHA moment!

Wanna know a secret?

Screen Shot 2013-09-09 at 12.10.31 PM

In the last episode of BDG TV, you learned all about setting your intention for love. How cool was that?

But do you wanna know a secret? To find love, the first person you’ve got to love is YOU.

I know, I know. You’ve heard it before. And you do love yourself. Really.

But here’s a different way to think about it. Check out today’s episode of BDG TV!

Then, post a comment–Have YOU ever felt less than totally-in-love with yourself in a relationship? What happened? Did the relationship stay strong, or suffer?
